Foundations Systems

Watertite T 2015

Our compartmentalized waterproofing system, for up to 15m deep basements.

Choosing a compartimentalized waterproofing system, for many experts, is similar with the highest degree of quality and durability assurance.

Combining this approach with a multilayer bituminous membrane system, can only boost the confidence that, for any deep structures near the sea, either residential or commercial, Watertite T2015 is the most trusted solution.

A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

What you will need

Polyprime SB, Bituplus E4180, Bitustick R 400, Bitumastic and TPE waterstop polyinject hose PVC

STEP 1: SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface shall be cleaned thoroughly of all contaminants like dust, traces of curing compound, oil and grease. All surface imperfections, protrusions, structurally unsound and friable concrete must be removed and repaired.

STEP 2: PRIMING

Apply Polyprime SB* (Solvent based primer) @4-6 m²/L to a clean, smooth and dry surface by brush, roller or spray. Allow the primer to dry prior to the application of the membrane. The primer promotes the adhesion between the membrane and the concrete surface.

STEP 3: APPLICATION

First Layer
Provide a 200-mm wide reinforcing strip of Bituplus E4180 over the cement sand angle fillet.
Begin membrane application by unrolling the first layer of the system and aligning the side laps. Side over laps should be a minimum of 100mm and the end over laps 150mm.
Install the membrane fully torched in vertical direction preferably till the top of the ground level, so that unnecessary joints are avoided which tend to be the weak spots for water leakage.

Second Layer
The 2nd layer of Bituplus E4180 is placed at 50% staggered overlaps over the 1st layer and is torched over the same to form a fully bonded system and provide a complete seal against water penetration.  Begin torching the embossed polyethylene side of the rolled portion of the membrane, standard operating procedure for the torching should be followed the entire roll should be heated evenly, not just the lap areas, with extra concentration at the overlaps.

First Layer Shoring wall
Mechanically fix the membranes at the top of the wall and lay it loose and connect to the horizontally installed Bituplus E4180 layer. Apparently, random spot torching can be done on the reverse side of the 1st layer so as to keep the orientation intact. Adequate care to be taken to completely torch and seal all the side and end overlaps.

Second Layer Shoring Wall
The 2nd layer of Bituplus E4180 is placed at 50% staggered overlaps over the 1st layer and is torched over the same to form a fully bonded system and provide a complete seal against water penetration.  Begin torching the embossed polyethylene side of the rolled portion of the membrane, standard operating procedure for the torching should be followed the entire roll should be heated evenly, not just the lap areas, with extra concentration at the overlaps.

STEP 4: COMPARMENTALISATION (OPTIONAL)

Comparmentalisation has to be implemented with TPE waterstop profiles

PVC flages connected to injection hoses which allow future resin injection.

Third Layer
The installed two layers of the waterproofing membrane are now to be protected with a self-adhesive protection membrane Bitustick R400.Bitustick R400 shall be placed at 50 % staggered overlaped over 2nd Layer.

Third Layer Shoring Wall
The installed two layers of the waterproofing membrane are now to be protected with a self-adhesive protection membrane Bitustick R400.Bitustick R400 shall be placed at 50 % staggered overlaped over 2nd Layer.

STEP 5: TERMINATION

The membrane system will be terminated at the top by tucking into a groove in the concrete and shall be sealed with a suitable mastic sealant, such as Bitumastic
