Foundations Systems

Watertite S 2003

Our trusted waterproofing system for villas basements of up to 3m depth.

Easiness in application, increased efficiency and safety on site and moreover compliance with green building standards, are the major attributes that come to mind when deciding to use a bituminous self-adhesive membrane system. Additionally, with Watertite S2003 system, the residential project will be fully protected against dampness, moisture contanimation and endured protection.

Polybit Watertite T 2003

A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

What you will need

Polyprime SB, Bitustick Cool, Bitustick R250

STEP 1: SURFACE PREPARATION

As with any waterproofing membranes, proper application is of paramount importance to obtain optimum product performance. A smooth regular and dry surface is always a must for good application. The substrate should be completely free of any protrusions or cavities. The presence of oily materials, frost, dampness, moisture and any other contaminants should be completely removed.

STEP 2: PRIMING

Apply Polyprime SB* (Solvent based primer) @4-6 m²/L to a clean, smooth and dry surface by brush, roller or spray. Allow the primer to dry prior to the application of the membrane. The primer promotes the adhesion between the membrane and the concrete surface.

STEP 3: APPLICATION

Horizontal Area

  1. Bitustick Cool membrane shall be installed from the low point or drains, so the flow of water is over or parallel to the plies, but never against the laps. All overlaps at the membrane seams shall be installed so as to have "up" slope laps over "down" slope laps.
  2. Unroll only the required length of the membrane and cut the pieces to the desired length and shape.
  3. Place the membrane pieces on the area to be covered and check whether the pieces match with the profile of the marked substrate.
  4. Re-roll the membrane for about half the length without changing its orientation. Then slowly unroll the membrane, peel off the release film and carefully place the membrane on the surface. Smoothen out any entrapped air by pressing from the center to the sides by the wooden press.
  5. Furthermore, an iron roller shall be used for rolling on top of the applied membrane to ensure a proper and strong adhesion of the bitumen compound with base surface and also on the overlaps to ensure that the overlaps are completely sealed.
  6. The subsequent rolls shall be laid to have a 50mm overlap on the selvedges and end overlaps of 100mm.

Verticle Area

  1. Reinforcing strips of 200 mm width cut out from the Bitustick Cool membrane shall be applied on all the corner joints (Internal and external).
  2. Dimension of the area, which needs to be waterproofed, shall be taken and the membrane is aligned accordingly. The membranes are then re-rolled and then un-rolled slowly and stuck to the surface by peeling off the silicone release film and exposing the self-adhesive side. Entrapped air shall be smoothened out from the center to the sides by a wooden press followed by rolling with an iron roller to ensure a proper and strong adhesion of the bitumen compound with base surface and also on the overlaps to ensure that the overlaps are completely sealed.
  3. The membrane will be finished on the top by tucking into a groove cut in the concrete and should be sealed with a suitable mastic sealant.

Unroll and align BitustickR250membrane on 1st layer to fit the orientation and roll it back. Now slowly peel off the release film at the back and simultaneously the release film from the top of Watertite TS 15 and carefully place the membrane without changing its orientation.
