Two component zinc rich epoxy primer

 

POLYPRIME ZC is a two component zinc rich epoxy primer with high zinc content. The cured coating can withstand of moderate to severe corrosive environment. POLYPRIME ZC will provide cathodic protection to underlying steel structures, pipes etc.

Step by step

SURFACE PREPARATION

Remove all surface impurities like oil, grease, salts, soil etc with suitable detergent and fresh water jet. Surface defects like weld spatter, sharp edges etc. need to be rectified before abrasive blasting. Abrasive blasting to Sa 2 ½ (ISO 8501-1 :1988) with a sharp edged surface profile corresponding to Keane-Tator Comparator 3.0 (G/S) or ISO comparator Medium (G ).

MIXING & APPLICATION

Pour the entire contents of Part A and Part B in a mixing pail and mix using a mechanical stirrer until get a homogeneous mix of approx. 2-3 minutes. Apply the mixed materials by brush or roller on the properly cleaned substrates and allow it to dry. Depending upon the surface condition one or more coats are recommended.

CURING

POLYPRIME ZC should be allowed to cure for at least 12 hours before next coat. At temperatures below 12ºC, the above times should be extended. Application Temperature It is better to apply the Polyprime ZC above 10 Deg C. Apply only on a dry and clean surface with a temperature above dew point to avoid condensation.
