Description

Hydrocarbon resin based concrete curing compound

Polycure R is a hydrocarbon resin based curing compound. It is a non-degradable, protective membrane forming liquid suitable for spray application on freshly poured concrete. The film retains sufficient moisture in the concrete required for full hydration of cement which is essential for full strength development. The membrane further acts as a primer system for subsequent surface finishes. It also provides a dust free surface to the concrete with a reduced incidence of drying shrinkage cracks.

Step by Step

Application

Polycure R is to be spray or roller applied as evenly as possible to the freshly placed concrete. For horizontal surfaces the curing compound should be applied as soon as the initial sheen has disappeared from the concrete surface. In the case of form concrete, the product is to be applied immediately on removal of the formwork.

Coverage

The rate of application is 4.5-5.5 m2/l however, higher coverage rates can be achieved in favourable conditions, such as shaded interior surfaces. An additional coat of Polycure R is recommended on concrete surfaces, which will be subjected to harsh rough conditions.
